EcoSheffield Welcomes LONGi Solar to South Yorkshire
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from LONGi Solar’s UK, Ireland & Nordics team to EcoSheffield for a visit to our Rotherham office and warehouse.
For us, relationships with the manufacturers behind the technology we install are an incredibly important part of what we do. They give our team the opportunity to speak directly with the people developing and bringing these products to market, strengthen our technical knowledge and ensure the advice we give our customers is based on a genuine understanding of the products available.
Building Relationships Beyond the Products
At EcoSheffield, we’ve always believed that choosing the right solar panel, battery or inverter should go much further than simply comparing a specification sheet.
We want to understand the companies behind the products, where their technology is heading, how they approach research and development and, importantly, the support available to both installers and customers throughout the lifetime of a system.
Our relationship with LONGi has continued to develop as we’ve grown, with LONGi solar panels now forming an important part of many of the residential and commercial systems we install across South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.
Having members of the LONGi team visit us in person gave us the opportunity to discuss the market, the latest developments in solar technology and how we can continue providing our customers with high-quality systems backed by one of the world's largest solar manufacturers.
A Significant Visit for a Young Local Business
EcoSheffield is still only around 20 months old, which makes visits like this particularly significant for us.
Although the EcoSheffield name is relatively new, the relationships behind the business have been built over many years working within the renewable energy industry.
Those relationships have helped us establish direct connections with some of the world's leading renewable technology manufacturers, while remaining firmly focused on what we set out to build from the beginning: a genuinely local renewable energy company for South Yorkshire.
We want our customers to have the best of both worlds — the personal service, accountability and aftercare of a local installer, combined with access to technology and manufacturer relationships normally associated with much larger national organisations.
Welcoming the LONGi Team to EcoSheffield
We'd like to say a huge thank you to Sarah Wallace, Will Han, Chao “Super” Jia and the wider LONGi team for taking the time to visit us.
It was great to show the team around our new home, introduce them to more of the EcoSheffield story and have some valuable conversations about where both the industry and LONGi technology are heading.
And, of course, we couldn't welcome an international solar manufacturer to Sheffield without giving them a little piece of the city to take home.
Each of our visitors received a handmade Sheffield Steel bookmark produced locally by Sheffield Artisan Iron — a small gift celebrating the manufacturing heritage of the city we're proud to represent.

As EcoSheffield continues to grow, maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers such as LONGi will remain a major part of how we operate.
Renewable technology is developing incredibly quickly. Having direct access to manufacturers means our team can continue learning, asking questions and understanding new developments before translating that knowledge into straightforward, honest advice for our customers.
We're proud of how far EcoSheffield has come in its first 20 months, but we're even more excited about what's ahead.
